Typical hot sun, cold wind, at the start of the walk
Once more it is uphill from the start, so everyone soon warmed up
Jan was a little nervous after her fall last Thursday
And parts of this walk are even more slippery than that one
But all went well and she soon recovered her confidence
It was very pleasant having our picnic lunch at The Cross
Nick, Janet, Ruth and Alan arrived just as we were leaving
This is the second time we have met them on this walk
Most of the group had not done this walk before
So we did a detour to Senija so that they could see the village
We were disappointed to find more concrete on this walk than previously
No idea why this should be so, and it did nothing to improve the walk
We had planned to miss out the detour to The Cross to make this walk
shorter
The objective was to keep Monday walks between four and five hours
However it was such a nice day that we opted to climb to The Cross for
lunch
Everyone seemed to be glad that we did so
Always difficult to gauge pace and distance with a new group
But I seemed to get it right this time
We are very pleased with how well the group is bonding in such a short
time
