28 March 2019 – Cocoll

This is a view of today’s walk from our naya
12 of us for today’s walk, including John and (Mrs) Terri Mcclelland
Unlike the last time we did this walk, this morning was sunny and bright
Despite a cool breeze many were in shirt sleeves
And the breeze made it very pleasant on the gentle uphill section
Warm enough to enjoy our banana break
Or just have a chat
From here the climb gets much steeper
So we had more frequent water stops
It was a relief to reach the airfield
And lunch with a magnificent view
Though we had to wrap up against the (now) cold breeze
Always time for the “silly airfield photo”
Then jackets off for the downhill return
We took the alternative return path, rather than back the same way
This is the first time I led this section and I was grateful for John’s help confirming the very overgrown track
Everyone was pleased to reach this clearing at the end of the rough section
And enjoyed the good track down to the main road
Followed by the race to the bar
Where we found Elaine (in dress and high heels) waiting for us
