21 November 2019 – Denia to Javea Windmills

Sunny but cold as we met at Denia marina

A fast pace soon warmed everyone up

And outer layers were removed at the first water stop

Completed the promenade section within an hour

Our second water stop to recover before the climb

A solitary woman sitting at the mirador was probably pleased we had a short break 

No one seemed to find the climb particularly difficult

And we had a sun trap for our banana break

We could have stopped here longer

But this is a long walk and we had a time table to keep to

By now the sun was warmer and it was ideal walking weather

Easy to forget that it was almost the end of November

This flat, open section is my favourite part of this lovely walk

We arrived at the windmills ten minutes before out estimated 1pm

This is a lovely location for our picnic lunch

And we had the whole area to ourselves

It would have been easy to stay longer than the half hour allocated

It was a nice easy walk back to the tower

Then downhill and along the promenade

 

With a very pleasant break half way in our usual bar overlooking the sea
