Twelve of us for today’s walk
This included Steph and Karen who joined us for their
first walk
It is not unusual for numbers to fall at this time of
year
Friends and family arrive to visit
Residents return to the UK or start their own holidays
And regular visitors return to the UK for the summer
In view of all of this twelve is actually a very good
turnout
At 27c this was also the hottest walk day this year
We can expect these temperatures to continue or even rise
That is why we take a summer break from the end of May to
the start of October
Today we looked for shade for our breaks, rather than a
sunny spot
And fortunately quite a lot of this walk is through woods
To be honest it did not feel as hot as we had feared
Though the climbing was a challenge
This is a very well laid out walk
With plenty of mirador viewpoints with seating and maps
And a lot of wide paths to step out and enjoy the scenery
I was pleased that despite the high temperatures it did
not affect the constant background chatter
Another very enjoyable walk with this very friendly group
And of course a well-deserved cold drink at the end
