14 March 2019 – Castells Rock Arches

Sixteen of us for today’s walk
This included Helen and Roger who have just returned from three weeks holiday
It also included Harry and Martina, two new walkers to the group
Bright and sunny start for our walk
But as always a few degree’s lower at Castells than Parcent
However it did not take long for everyone to warm up
No mountains on this walk, but still considerable ascent
And at 12 noon it was very late for our Banana stop
Good spot for the break, but perhaps a little late in the walk
Then on to the Rock Arches
This is the roughest part of the walk
But not long before we reach the Arches
A very good spot for a photo opportunity
Mike found an even more spectacular spot
Coming down is much worse than going up
Perhaps next time we will use the easier lower track
Very pleasant to have our picnic in the sun
Followed by the easier downhill path back to Castells
Not the most spectacular, but certainly a very enjoyable walk
Another great walk in great company
Stats
Distance – 14 km
Time Taken – 5.5 hours
Total Ascent – 480 metres
 Total Steps - 19300
