This was the first walk of our new Monday Ramblers group
We were very pleased to have received so much interest even before this
first walk
As a result we had a full group of 16 today
This included regular walkers like David and John
Plus frequent visitors like Tom and Sue, and Richard and Brenda
But it also included eight new members on their first walk
We were a little concerned how it would work with so many new members
But we need not have worried, they all mixed in really well
Long before we reached Alcalali it felt just like any of our other walks
When we checked the weather forecast on Saturday it promised light rain
all day
By Sunday it had changed to cloudy with temperatures of 30c
So were not really sure what to expect, other than that it would be
pretty warm
In fact it felt very comfortable throughout the walk
Though we were glad of the shade inside the font building at Parcent for our picnic
We plan to offer 4-5 hour walks on this new group
About two thirds will be the shorter Thursday Explorer walks
But we do intend to introduce about ten new shorter walks
This was the first of them, and consisted of parts of other walks
I was unsure how long it would take, and was quite pleased with 4.5
hours
An excellent and very enjoyable start to the new walking group
