19 September 2019 – Jalon to Lliber

13 of us for another of our summer walks
These are shorter and lower level than our usual walks
We start at 0900 and aim to complete the walk before midday
Everyone was really pleased to get out in the fresh air after a particularly wet and miserable week
It was also nice to meet up with friends and catch up on their summer news
The aim is to complete each walk in three hours, before it gets too hot
These are all parts of walks we have done many times
But we have never done them as a complete walk before
Consequently it was difficult to estimate timings
Particularly as we had to walk slower than usual due to the heat
We also had to do a recce of a small section which joined two known tracks
This was originally planned as a circular walk from Lliber
But when we did the recce it was only two and a half hours
So we started the walk from Jalon to make it three hours
However we walked much slower as a group and it was 20 minutes longer than expected
I don’t think anyone really minded, or even noticed
We were fortunate to have relatively low temperatures and a small breeze.
As well as old friends we welcomed Jose for her first walk
And also Jill who has just moved to Jalon from the UK
It has been a long, hot summer and it is great to get back into our walking routine
