23 June 2019 – Thropton

By Sunday afternoon the three grandchildren were getting restless
So the whole family drove to the nearby village of Thropton
Chloe goes to school in Thropton, and they walk the dog along the river Coquet each day

We were fortunate to have a sunny afternoon
But not a particularly warm one, certainly not by Spanish standards

So everyone started off in jumpers
But there is something about water and children
Chloe and Georgia were soon splashing in and out of the very cold water
Jack was more interested in refining his rock skimming technique
Pooch preferred splashing in the water with the girls
Even on a sunny Sunday afternoon we had the whole area to ourselves
Grandad was called on to demonstrate his skimming skills, and failed miserably
After an hour or so the girls became aware that they are REALLY hungry
So all packed up and returned to the car
Jan and I opted to walk back to Rothbury along the river, and were pleasantly surprised that Jack wanted to join us rather than drive back.
