24 April 2019 – Tormos to Isbert Dam

After five days of almost non stop rain we were desperate to get out of the house
So when we heard that there was a waterfall over Isbert Dam we decided to go and have a look
Mike, Jo and Ada joined us for the four hour walk
We were not sure what to expect, so we decided to cross the river and approach the dam through the disused tunnel
There was more water at the ford than normal, but we were able to cross without getting our feet wet
There were a group of Spanish at the entrance to the tunnel who told us that the tunnel was badly flooded
We soon confirmed that there was at least 6” of water at the entrance, and we could hear water splashing inside
So we had our banana stop and considered our options
We decided to retrace our steps to the ford
And walk to the dam on the other side of the river
It was pretty dry and we could walk along the river almost to the dam, where there was a small lake but no waterfall
Despite this it was a very enjoyable walk and great to get out in the sun with friends.
