13 of us for today’s walk
This is one of our favourite walks
It is the first walk we learned to do on our own
And was the one we took all our walking visitors to see
It is a relatively easy climb
Followed by a long ridge walk
Then it is downhill though a wooded section
We often extend it to visit the rural restaurant La Venta
It was open and very busy today
But it is usually closed on our Monday walk
And we can have our picnic on their wooden tables
The walk back is along the side of the hill
And always takes longer than I remember
It also provides fantastic views down the valley to the
coast
And there are three bars in Benimaurell to choose from
The whole walk takes about five hours
And most of the climbing is done in the car
So not surprising that it is one of our firm favourites
Today was special with good company and ideal walking
weather
I hope some of our group have also discovered a favourite
walk today
