A large group of 20 for the last walk before the summer
break
This is always a good choice for the first or last walk,
as it is not too hilly and quite wooded
Today we made an unplanned visit to the “zoo”
So no apple for the donkey
With such a large group Jan and Susan warned the bar to
expect us before we started the walk
I was worried that it might be too hot at the dry river
where we had our banana break
But everyone just seemed glad to stop walking and sit
down
And of course have a chat
We were pleasantly surprised that Colin and Karina joined us, having just returned from their third Camino de Santiago walk
It was also nice to see Roger and Helen, who have just
returned from a holiday in Andalusia
On such a hot day everyone was pleased to reach the
wooded section of the walk
A loose boot sole could have been a problem, but
fortunately Jan had a spare pair of laces in her pack and we could tie the sole
to his boot
Lucky it worked because we had the difficult part of the
walk next
Also nice to see Tanya after a short break and visit to
the UK
Anita had to behave herself as her husband Jan was on a
short visit
Despite the unexpected delay to repair boots we arrived
at our lunch spot just before 1300
Fortunately there was no one at home, so we all gathered
in the only shade available
Steph and Karen have just moved to Jalon, so this was a
good opportunity to explore their local area
Refreshed and rested it was an easy downhill walk back to
Lliber
Always sad to come to the end of the walking season, but
there is always October to look forward to.
